Slow Food Nations

Flatirons Food Film Festival at Slow Food Nations

We are touching down in Denver on July 15 and 16 to be part of Slow Food NaSlowFoodNations-logo_full_500tions, a new international food festival that will take place from July 14-16 in downtown Denver.

The Urban Farmer restaurant– opening in August– will host the Slow Food Nations Film Cafe. Slow Food Nations participants can stop by to relax, watch the films, and grab a beverage or snack. The cafe will be open Saturday and Sunday, July 15-16, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. The Urban Farmer is located in the former McCormick and Schmick’s space adjacent to the Oxford Hotel at 17th and Wazee (1600 17th Street). If you are in LoDo during cafe hours, stop by and say hello!

Slow Food Nations will include everything from workshops to tastings to demos. It will also include some of the best short films that have screened at the Flatirons Food Film Festival. While all of the films have a strong connection to food, the format, setting and subject matter are as wildly diverse as food itself. This offering includes documentaries as well as narrative and animated films. Learn about the traditional artisan foods made to celebrate local Sicilian religious festivals. Get immersed in a story about love and dedication amongst the Ceylon tea fields. Thrill to a fast-paced montage that provides ten culinary reasons to love Italy. Touch into a film series made in Colorado to explore some of its rural food cultures.
