Food is an animated short documentary that brings attention to food, the way we see it, the way we eat it and the way we think about it. The film features interviews with a wide variety of eaters from around the world. Ranging from vegetarians, vegans, pescetarians to some seriously dedicated carnivores, the conversation raises many substantial issues about the environment and modern life. The consequences that food preferences have on the environment, the loss of the relationship with the earth, the often unsustainable methods of food production, the contrast between search for pleasure and responsible choices. The film not only talks about food, but also makes food talking about itself. By pairing real interviews with stop-motion animation, the film presents a group of “edible characters” discussing issues about themselves.
